My take on the NCAA Tournament field and teams left out

Southern Miss was left out of the NCAAs after just missing an automatic bid in a double overtime loss to Memphis in the C-USA Tournament title game.


In my mind, there were not many critical decisions, dramatic moments with the NCAA selection committee this year. You can make the case for both Miami and Duke as top-seeds at the expense of Gonzaga. You can make the case for Southern Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama or Virginia getting into the event.

Women’s NCAA bracket unveiled Monday night

Late season surge helped the Lady Tigers stay on the Road to New Orleans, site of the 2013 NCAA Women's Final Four.


Sunday was Selection Sunday for the NCAA men's basketball championship. Monday is Selection Monday on the women's side, as the field of 64 is announced at 6 p.m. on ESPN for the NCAA women's championship, which will end up three weeks from now at New Orleans Arena.
