Louisiana Tech Breaks Football Season Ticket Record

RUSTON – With three weeks remaining before the start of the 2012 football season, Louisiana Tech Athletics announced that the school has already broken its season ticket record – marking the fifth straight year that a new mark has been reached.

The Tech Ticket Office reported that it has sold more than 6,000 season tickets for the upcoming campaign – including more than 1250 new sales as the defending Western Athletic Conference champion Bulldogs open the year Aug. 30 against SEC foe Texas A&M at Independence Stadium in Shreveport.

Tech is the preseason conference favorite to repeat as WAC champions and the Bulldogs six-game home slate includes contests against the Aggies, Rice, UNLV, Idaho, Utah State and UTSA with the latter five coming at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston.

Despite the increase in ticket sales, plenty of great seats are still available for the Texas A&M game in Shreveport (which is included in the season ticket package). Fans can purchase their season tickets or just Texas A&M single game tickets by calling the Tech Ticket Office at 318-257-3631, emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Fans are also encouraged to sign up their young Bulldog and Techster fans with a membership to the LA Tech Kids Club (only $40 per year gets free admittance to all LA Tech regular season, on-campus home events as well as numerous other benefits).

This year will be the University's last to compete in the WAC as Louisiana Tech will be making the all-sports move to Conference USA on July 1, 2013. Tech fans are encouraged to purchase season tickets and to join the Louisiana Tech Athletics Club (LTAC) in order to help grow the University's athletic budget as it heads into this new era of competition.

Tech fans are also encouraged to financially support the University's dedicated and talented student-athletes, coaches and staff by joining the Louisiana Tech Athletic Club (LTAC). These types of financial gifts are vital to the continued success. Anyone interesting in becoming a member of LTAC can do so by calling Adam McGuirt at 318-255-7950.
