Jeryl Brazil, a versatile junior speedster out of Loranger High (La.), has committed to LSU.
The pledge is the first to Les Miles and the Tigers for the Class of 2013.
A dynamic track star and reigning Class 3A state outdoor champion in the 100 and 200 meters, Brazil (5'10-178, 4.35) has also been officially timed by laser at 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash and has a vertical leap of 34 inches.
Brazil, nicknamed "The Kidd," has played at quarterback, running back, wide reciever and cornerback, but sources close to SportsNOLA feel his best place will be on the defensive side of the ball on the college level.
After attending the LSU camp earlier this summer, Brazil was offered a place in the 2013 signing class. He also camped at Alabama this past week but was not offered. Southern Miss also reportedly offered.
