Luncheons every Monday, beginning August 29, 2011, for 16 weeks, ending Monday, December 19, 2011. (Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2001 will be at luncheon date rather than on Labor Day, Sept. 5).

The luncheons are hosted at The embassy Suites Hotel-New Orleans-Convention Center at 315 Julia Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130, First Floor.

Ken Trahan is the master of ceremonies. The Quarterback Club has been in existence since 1939.

Membership is open to anyone interested in football and all sports in general. topics covered each week are addressed by a guest speaker on the Saints, LSU, Tulane and a local high school. Some of the speakers this year are Archie Manning, Bobby Hebert, Ricky Jackson, Bob Toledo and J.T. Curtis. Other former and current coaches/athletic directors/media from the Saints, LSU, Tulane and Louisiana high schools will be scheduled to speak.

Membership cost is only $50 for the entire football season (16 luncheons) which allows a purchase of a luncheon at the cost of $15 per lunch.

Non-members are always welcomed at a charge of $25 per lunch.

Lunches can be purchased at the entrance of the Embassy Suites Hotel-New Orleans-Convention Center, First Floor.

A special luncheon deal savings for all 16 lunches, which we call a season ticket, cost $250, which includes all dues and costs for all 16 luncheons.

Lunches consist of a buffet choice of two entrees, two salads, soup, two sides, breads and a dessert, along with tea or coffee. All tips/gratuities are included in the lunch cost (note: doors open at 11:30 and luncheons begins at 12 noon and end approximately at 1 pm).

Parking is available for $5 inside the hotel garage.

2011 N.O. QB CLUB/SPORTSNOLA.COM PREP PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

WEEK 1

JAY WASHINGTON--6'2, 190 Jr.--Defensive Back -- ST. PAUL'S

Washington had an interception, a fumble recovery, 6 solo tackles, two assists and three passes defensed as ninth-ranked (5A) St. Paul's whipped top-ranked (4A) Edna Karr 38-7. Washington is coached by Ken Sears.

WEEK 2

MICHAEL MCCARTHY -- 5'8 163 Sr. -- Kicker/Punter -- BROTHER MARTIN

McCarthy set a Brother Martin school record with five field goals, going 5-for-5 with field goals of 36, 40, 28, 28 and 35 yards. He made all three extra points, scoring 18 points. He punted once for 38 yards as Brother Martin downed St. Augustine 36-22. McCarthy is coached by Mark Bonis.

WEEK 3

PAUL STANTON -- 5'10 175 Sr. -- Running Back--JESUIT

A 5'10, 175-pound senior, Stanton rushed 14 times for 91 yards and a touchdown and caught six passes for 115 yards and a score as Jesuit whipped Shaw 34-17 to improve to 3-0 on the season. Stanton is coached by Wayde Keiser.

WEEK 4

LEONARD FOURNETTE -- 6'0 215 So. -- Running Back--ST. AUGUSTINE

The sophomore sensation carried 22 times for 208 yards and three touchdowns and caught a 27-yard touchdown pass as St. Augustine rallied past Hahnville 40-21 at Boutte. Fournette is coached by David Johnson.

WEEK 5

ASPHEN GAINES -- 5'7 155 So. -- Quarterback--BELLE CHASSE

Gaines completed 13 of 21 for 254 yards and two touchdowns and ran 22 times for 131 and three touchdowns as Belle Chasse ran past Vandebilt Catholic, 53-24, to improve to 5-0. Gaines is coached by Bob Becnel.

WEEK 6

DEVANTE NOIL -- 5'10, 165 Soph. -- Quarterback -- EDNA KARR

Noil completed 15-of-26 passes for 339 yards and six touchdowns and rushed nine times for 118 yards and a seventh touchdown to pace Edna Karr to a 48-18 victory over Helen Cox in the 9-4A district opener for both teams. Noil is coached by Jabbar Juluke.

WEEK 7

DAMIAN WILLIAMS -- 6'0, 205 Jr. -- Quarterback -- ARCHBISHOP RUMMEL

Williams carried 24 times for 176 yards and a touchdown and completed 6-of-8 passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns as ninth-ranked Rummel remained unbeaten at 6-0 with a 42-34 district win over 10th-ranked West Jefferson. Williams is coached by Jay Roth.

WEEK 8

ANTHONY THOMAS -- 6'0, 170 Jr. -- Running Back -- DE LA SALLE

Thomas carried 17 times for 195 yards and three touchdowns and added a pair of two-point conversions on offense. On defense, Thomas was in on eight tackles and had a pair of interceptions, including a 40-yard return for a touchdown. On special teams, he returned punts and kicks for 59 yards as the Cavaliers defeated Lusher 43-22 at Brees Family Field. Thomas is coached by Corey Bordelon.

WEEK 9

RYAN NOONAN--6'2, 190 Jr.--Quarterback--POPE JOHN PAUL II

Noonan had a monstrous effort as Pope John Paul II downed St. Thomas Aquinas 44-26. Noonan was 9-of-11 for 234 yards and four touchdowns and carried 11 times for 96 yards and two touchdowns for the Jaguars, who improved to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in 8-2A. Noonan is coached by Mark Jeanmard.

WEEK 10

EUGENE WELLS--5'8, 165 So.--Quarterback--EAST JEFFERSON

The young signal-caller came up big as the Warriors beat Holy Cross, 31-13, to clinch a home playoff game in the 4A playoffs. Wells rushed 22 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns and was a perfect 4-of-4 for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns passing. Wells is coached by Nick Saltaformaggio.

WEEK 11

J.J. BROWN -- 5'6 166 Sr. -- Running Back -- RUMMEL

Brown carried 33 times for 317 yards and 2 touchdowns as Rummel defeated Higgins, 31-28, in the opening round of the 5A playoffs. Brown is coached by Jay Roth.

WEEK 12

JOSHUA ROUNDS -- 5'10 195 Sr. -- Running Back -- MCMAIN

The prolific running back came up big as the Mustangs beat Livonia, 57-50, to advance in the 3A playoffs. Wells carried 35 times for 240 yards and two touchdowns.

WEEK 13

MATT BERGERON -- 6'0 180 Jr. -- Quarterack -- MANDEVILLE

Bergeron completed 10-of-18 passes for 215 yards and four touchdowns as Mandeville advanced to the 5A semifinals for the first time in school history, shutting out Ruston 26-0. Bergeron is coached by Guy Lecompte.

WEEK 14

ERIC THOMAS -- Linebacker -- John Curtis

A junior, Thomas was the dominant player on the field with 12 tackles, 2 for loss, 4 sacks and blocked a field goal in a 38-6 victory over Evangel in the 2A state semifinals. Curtis advances to the 2A championship game against Winnfield. Thomas is coached by J.T. Curtis.

WEEK 15

MARCUS HALL -- Running Back -- St. Charles Catholic

The senior running back was voted as the most outstanding player in the 3A state championship game. Hall rushed 17 times for 82 yards, caught two passes for seven yards, returned two punts for 14 yards and 1 kickoff for 19 yards, accounting for 112 total yards as St. Charles Catholic won their first-ever state championship, edging Amite 9-3. Hall is coached by Frank Monica.
