The Times-Picayune reports that New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Remi Ayodele has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings.
The deal is reportedly a 3-year contract worth $9 million, according to James Varney's league source.
Ayodele leaves New Orleans with a Super Bowl ring from the 2009 season. He showed his appreciation for Saints fans on his Twitter account:
WHODAT Nation thanks for all the love and memories.. I will be bck down to NOLA on my free time.. best of luck to the saints this year..
Ayodele made 21 tackles last season with a sack and a forced fumble as the Saints' starting nose tackle. The Oklahoma product spent three seasons with New Orleans after starting in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys in 2007.
In the NFL, players move from team-to-team quite quickly. And the internet chronicles the activity in real time. Ayodele is already sporting his new gear - a Vikings hat anyway - and will wear the purple and gold when he welcomes his ex-teammates to Minnesota for 2010 regular season clash on Sunday, December 18.
