Usama Young
Sports talk radio station WKNR first reported that the Cleveland Browns will sign New Orleans Saints free agent safety Usama Young. Saints head coach Sean Payton confirmed that Young will not re-sign with New Orleans later Thursday.
Young, a Kent State alum, has played the last four years as a backup with New Orleans but appears to be headed back to the Buckeye State.
The Saints selected Young (6-0, 200) in the third round of the 2007 draft (66th overall). He played every position in the secondary with New Orleans over the past 4 seasons and settled in at safety and as a core special teams player.
A well-liked player and person with the Saints, Young now moves on to Cleveland with a chance to secure a starting job.
