Former USC and New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush finally returned his copy of the Heisman Trophy.
ESPNLosAngeles.com first reported Wednesday that Bush had indeed given the statue back to the Heisman Trust after forfeiting it in 2010 following an NCAA investigation at USC found he has received improper benefits,
"The Heisman Trust has it in their possession," Heisman official Tim Henning told ESPNLosAngeles.com.
According to ESPNLosAngeles.com, the current Miami Dolphins running back ended up keeping the award until some point in 2012.
Bush won the Heisman in December 2005. After the NCAA announced sanctions against USC in June 2010, the school returned its version of the award in August. In September 2010, the number two overall draft pick by the Saints in 2006 said he would "forfeit" the title of Heisman Trophy winner and return the his copy of the award to the Heisman Trust.
After playing for national title winning teams at USC in 2003 and 2004 (the latter title was vacated due to the aforementioned NCAA violations), Bush played for New Orleans from 2006-10 including the Super Bowl XLIV winning team.
