Saints scout Jim Monos headed to Buffalo

Jim Monos, an area scout for the Saints for the last eight years, is headed to the Buffalo Bills to serve as director of player personnel.

The Bills made the announcement Thursday morning, just hours after naming Doug Whaley as the team's new general manager.

Monos joined the Saints in 2005 from the Philadelphia Eagles. He is a graduate of Bloomsburg University. Monos' father, Jim Sr., was a one-time assistant coach at Bloomsburg, and that connection helped lead to the Saints drafting all-pro guard Jahri Evans out of the Division II school in 2006. Jim Monos Sr. is now the head coach at Lebanon Valley College.
