Nearly half the television sets in the New Orleans market and three-quarters of the TVs in use were tuned to the Saints' season-opening 23-17 victory over Atlanta Sunday.
The 49.0 rating and 75 share generated locally ranked New Orleans second among the 30 NFL markets for viewership on the opening weekend of the NFL season.
Only in Milwaukee - where 50.8 percent of TVs watched the Packers defeat the 49ers - were a higher percentage of televisions tuned to the NFL.
Denver, Indianapolis and Baltimore rounded out the top five markets.
A total of 108.4 million fans watched games over the opening weekend, the most-viewed opening weekend in NFL history.
