Basketball in Baton Rouge has been a success this season

Southern's men had a fine basketball season on the hardwood and punched their ticket to the Big Dance.

The 2012-2013 basketball regular season has come and gone in Baton Rouge though there is still some post season play for the Southern Jaguars men’s team and the LSU Lady Tigers. It has been a season with a lot of success at all levels for Baton Rouge teams.

NASCAR not for everybody and certainly not me

Jimmie Johnson's win at the 2013 Daytona 500 did not stir the passions in every sports fan out there.

I have been in the sports media for over 20 years now and have been lucky enough to see a lot of championships in south Louisiana by the likes of LSU baseball, LSU football and the New Orleans Saints. Yes, other sports at LSU, Southern and other schools in Louisiana have captured some titles but you know what I mean.
